Holocaust studies scholar Erin McGlothlin has been named vice dean of undergraduate affairs in Arts & Sciences, announced Feng Sheng Hu, the Lucille P. Markey Distinguished Professor and dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences.

Shantay Bolton, vice president and deputy chief operating officer at Tulane University, has been appointed executive vice chancellor for administration and chief administrative officer at Washington University in St. Louis, effective July 1, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Sean Joe, the Benjamin E. Youngdahl Professor of Social Development at the Brown School, has been elected president of the Society for Social Work and Research.

Mary McKay, the Neidorff Family and Centene Corporation Dean of the Brown School, has been elected as the  incoming president of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare, and Renee Cunningham-Williams, associate professor at the Brown School, was inducted as an academy fellow. 

Dedric Carter, vice chancellor for operations and technology transfer at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed chair of the board of the Missouri Technology Corp.

Ebony Boyce Carter, MD, a physician-scientist known for her research involving community-based interventions to promote health equity for pregnant women and their babies, has been named director of the Division of Clinical Research in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the School of Medicine.

Matifadza Hlatshwayo Davis, MD, an instructor in medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine, has been appointed to the City of St. Louis Board of Health. Her term runs until February 2024.

At the Washington University Board of Trustees meeting Dec. 4, several faculty members were appointed or promoted with tenure or granted tenure, effective that day unless otherwise indicated.

Princess Imoukhuede, associate professor, has been named director of diversity initiatives for the McKelvey School of Engineering. In addition, Jessica Wagenseil, associate professor, has been appointed vice dean for faculty advancement at the school, and she will serve as associate chair of the McKelvey Faculty Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

At the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 2, several faculty members were appointed or promoted with tenure or granted tenure, with most taking effect that day.
