Greg Hart has been appointed Washington University’s first chief technology officer, announced Jessie Minton, vice chancellor for technology and chief information officer. Hart begins the role March 20.

Julie-Ellen Acosta has been named assistant vice chancellor for the Office of Human Resources at Washington University in St. Louis. Acosta will oversee the Applied Leadership and Learning and Development teams. Her new role took effect March 1.

Michael Mazzeo, a professor of strategy at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, will be the next dean of Olin Business School, effective Jan. 1, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Ed Soltero has been appointed assistant vice chancellor and university architect for Facilities Planning & Management, announced Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor for administration.

Dana Ostrander has been appointed assistant curator of modern art at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis. She will begin March 13.

Jay Turner, an internationally renowned environmental researcher, has been named the inaugural James McKelvey Professor of Engineering Education in the McKelvey School of Engineering.

Amy Walter, a leader in information technology at Washington University for the past eight years, has been named associate vice chancellor and deputy chief information officer for research, clinical and medical education technologies across the university. She began in her new role Feb. 1.

Peter Hook has been appointed director and associate dean of the Law Library at the School of Law. Hook, who comes to the university from the University of Notre Dame Law School, will begin his role July 1.

Lisa Weingarth, vice president of external affairs at the St. Louis-based nonprofit Rung for Women, has been named to the newly created role of senior adviser for St. Louis initiatives in the Office of the Chancellor. Her appointment is effective Feb. 20.

J.D. Burton has been named the vice chancellor for government relations at Washington University in St. Louis, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin. He will begin the role March 27.
