Jay Turner, an internationally renowned environmental researcher, has been named the inaugural James McKelvey Professor of Engineering Education in the McKelvey School of Engineering.

John Hendrix, a professor and founding chair of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ MFA in Illustration & Visual Culture program, was installed Jan. 26 as the Kenneth E. Hudson Professor of Art.

Katharine Flores, a renowned materials scientist who develops new complex metallic alloys and advanced manufacturing techniques, was recently installed as the Christopher I. Byrnes Professor of Engineering.

The Sam Fox Ambassadors Graduate Fellowship Program, which each year provides full-tuition waivers for 10 outstanding graduate candidates in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, has been permanently endowed thanks to a new $10 million pledge from the Sam and Marilyn Fox Foundation.
