The William Greenleaf Eliot Society held its 53rd and final annual dinner this spring in honor of Washington University’s group of committed supporters. Chancellor Andrew D. Martin presented the Search Award to James and Elizabeth McDonnell.

In memory of recent graduate and basketball star Justin Hardy, an anonymous donor has made a pledge of $500,000 to endow the Justin Hardy Courage Fund at Washington University in St. Louis. To encourage support for the fund, the donor has committed another $500,000 to match tribute gifts made by others. 

Jeremy Goldbach, an expert on LGBTQ mental health, has been installed as the inaugural Masters and Johnson Distinguished Professor in Sexual Health and Education.

Brett Drake, an expert on child welfare, has been installed as the inaugural Professor of Data Science for the Social Good in Practice at the Brown School.

The School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis recognized six alumni who have achieved success in their respective fields during its Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner, held April 8 at at Anheuser-Busch Hall.

Joseph Jez was installed as the Spencer T. Olin Professor of Biology in Arts & Sciences during a ceremony April 4 in Holmes Lounge. He gave an installation lecture, “Exploring Nature’s Machinery.”

WashU’s greatest source of renewable energy is its alumni.

Alumnus David Ulevitch’s résumé is filled with personal entrepreneurial successes, yet today he finds mentoring entrepreneurs as well as college students and young alumni among his most fulfilling endeavors.

WashU and St. Louis business communities are invited to Olin Business School’s inaugural Brauer Lecture Series event, which will focus on how to find fulfillment through work within the free-enterprise system.

Douglas Luke, a leading researcher in the areas of public health policy, systems science and tobacco control at the Brown School at Washington University, has been installed as the inaugural Irving Louis Horowitz Professor in Social Policy.
