Sam Fox School, AIA St. Louis announce 2018 Steedman Fellowship
The 2018 James Harrison Steedman Fellowship in Architecture asks how infrastructure shapes our individual and collective environments. The biennial research competition for early-career architects is organized by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, in concert with AIA St. Louis. Registration opens Aug. 15 and proposals are due Nov 1.

Kemper Art Museum to close May 22 for expansion
This summer, after years of planning and preparation, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis will commence a major expansion designed to support increased exhibition programs and to showcase a larger portion of the museum’s renowned permanent collection.

Artist Ron E. Young explores the materials that built his native north St. Louis. The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum will feature his work as part of the 2018 MFA Thesis Exhibition, opening Friday, May 4.
‘Dwell in Other Futures’

On April 27 and 28, Washington University’s Divided City initiative will co-sponsor “Dwell in Other Futures,” a two-day event exploring how collisions of race, urbanism and futurism might spark fresh ideas about the city that is and the city that is to come.
