Washington University Hip Hop Union specializes in commercial dance – the high-energy style that backup dancers typically perform at concerts and in music videos. They will perform, along with other student groups, in a showcase Saturday, Nov. 12.

On Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, and the Athletic Complex is ready to welcome students, faculty and staff who are registered to vote in St. Louis County. Polls are open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Also, join in a party with live music and free food.

Washington University in St. Louis invites talented high school sophomores from rural communities in Missouri and southern Illinois to apply to the WashU Rural Scholars Academy, a free summer program that will strengthen academic and leadership skills, demystify the college application process and introduce students to Washington University, a global leader in teaching and research.

Gonzalez, Martin launch food blog

When Chancellor Andrew Martin told Anna Gonzalez, the newly named vice chancellor for student affairs and self-proclaimed foodie, that St. Louis boasted a world-class food scene, Gonzalez had her doubts. Two years later, she is happy to say the chancellor was right. Together they have launched the food blog, “Good Eats with Chancellor Martin & Dr. G,” which will showcase great local restaurants.
