Washington University medical experts share how students, faculty and staff can stay healthy this holiday season. They note that masks not only slow the spread of COVID-19, but also can stop dangerous viruses such as the flu and RSV, which are currently raging throughout the St. Louis region. 

Seniors Sam Norwitz and Ephraim Oyetunji, both majoring in neuroscience in Arts & Sciences, were finalists for the Rhodes Scholarship, one of the world’s most prestigious academic honors.

QPR training, a nationally recognized suicide prevention program, is now available to all students, faculty and staff at Washington University. Kirk Dougher, associate vice chancellor for student support and wellness, likens QPR to CPR — an emergency response that saves lives.

As the new adviser at the Washington University Office of Military & Veteran Services, Beverly Wagner is eager to help Washington University’s veterans, active-duty and Reserve and National Guard service members, as well as dependents and survivors, maximize their WashU experience.

Washington University Hip Hop Union specializes in commercial dance – the high-energy style that backup dancers typically perform at concerts and in music videos. They will perform, along with other student groups, in a showcase Saturday, Nov. 12.

On Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, and the Athletic Complex is ready to welcome students, faculty and staff who are registered to vote in St. Louis County. Polls are open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Also, join in a party with live music and free food.

Ranen Miao, a senior studying political science and sociology in Arts & Sciences, was elected to serve as national director of communications for the College Democrats of America.

Presented by student group Ashoka, Washington University’s annual Diwali performance is a celebration of South Asian dance and song. It also serves as a showcase for the region’s colorful fashions.

Washington University in St. Louis invites talented high school sophomores from rural communities in Missouri and southern Illinois to apply to the WashU Rural Scholars Academy, a free summer program that will strengthen academic and leadership skills, demystify the college application process and introduce students to Washington University, a global leader in teaching and research. 

Evelyn Ngugi, aka “Evelyn From the Internets,” has been posting her hilarious and heartfelt videos for almost a decade. She will give a talk Thursday, Nov. 3, on the Danforth Campus.
