Student emergency responders break down barriers

Last year, student-run emergency medicine organization EST responded to 400 calls, ranging from cuts to anaphylaxis to chest pain to panic attacks. The group’s 70 members also provide coverage crews for high-contact club sports, staff vaccine clinics and offer CPR training.

The Washington University in St. Louis community is encouraged to donate to, and volunteer with, the 2023 United Way of Greater St. Louis annual campaign. Launching this week, the campaign will raise funds to support over 160 local nonprofits and more than 1 million people in the 16-county region.

Now in its 51st year, the Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race is a favorite St. Louis tradition. This year, WashU is sponsoring a balloon and the festival’s main stage. Students also have a chance to win a ride in WashU’s balloon.
