Chancellor-elect Andrew Martin is looking for input from the university community to help inform the strategic planning process that is getting underway this spring. In addition to small group conversations and formal meetings at the school and university levels, an online form is available where you can share your thoughts about the university’s short- and long-term priorities.

Under the leadership of Chancellor-elect Andrew Martin, Washington University will embark on a strategic planning process this spring, to be heavily informed by input from members of the university community.

The university has convened a faculty group to consider the Better Together proposal from various perspectives and areas of expertise and to offer opportunities for the campus community to engage in dialogue.  

Washington University strongly opposes legislation that is pending before the Missouri legislature that would effectively gut the university’s process for handling sexual assault and misconduct on our campuses.

A renovation project will begin this May in the Mallinckrodt Center. A number of academic and student support services will relocate to the center by the end of December.

Washington University in St. Louis will once again participate in a comprehensive survey about sexual assault on college campuses, to be conducted by the Association of American Universities (AAU) this spring.

The Washington University in St. Louis community will come together Feb. 19-20 for the fifth annual Day of Discovery, Dialogue & Action event. This year’s theme is “Dialogues Across Difference” and will focus on the ways we communicate with each other, particularly on difficult topics and during challenging times.

The School of Engineering & Applied Science will be renamed the James McKelvey School of Engineering, in honor of trustee and distinguished alumnus Jim McKelvey Jr., who has made an unprecedented and transformative investment in the school.

Andrew Rehfeld, associate professor of political science at Washington University, has been elected the 13th president of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) following a national search to fill the role.

Alumni and longtime Washington University supporters Nick and Barrie Somers have made a significant commitment to the university for long-range capital needs. In recognition, the Psychology Building — which houses the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences — will be named Somers Family Hall.
