Brookings descendant visits campus April 8, 2014 SHARE John Wallace, great-grandnephew of Robert S. Brookings, and his wife, Ellen (right), talk with Tenille Washburn (JD ’01), a student in the Brookings Executive Education (BEE) program, before a dinner at the Charles F. The Wallaces were in town for a BEE conference on “Daring to Lead.” Brookings was president of the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees from 1895 to 1928. In 1927, he established the present-day Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. Brookings Executive Education, a partnership between the university and the Brookings Institution, is a premier provider of executive education for those engaged in government.
