Faces of Hope set for Thursday, April 8

Annual event to highlight impact of community partnerships

Students, faculty, staff and members of the St. Louis community are invited to the third annual “Faces of Hope,” a celebration of civic engagement and community service at Washington University in St. Louis.

The event, hosted by the Gephardt Institute for Public Service, will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, April 8, in the Whitaker Hall atrium and auditorium.

This year’s program will highlight the impact of community partnerships. Special recognition will be given to the following organizations for their multiple and longstanding collaborations with the university:

  • Doorways
  • Gateway Greening
  • Hazelwood Schools
  • Lydia’s House
  • Lift for Life Academy
  • Operation Food Search
  • St. Louis Crisis Nursery
  • St. Louis Public Schools
  • University City Schools

“Faces of Hope” will include a reception and feature a poster session displaying service initiatives across the university.

“Attendees will be amazed and inspired by the depth and breadth of community involvement represented,” says Robin Hattori, program director of the Gephardt Institute.

“This unique gathering gives us a chance to recognize highlights of the past year as well as to reaffirm the university’s commitment to our partners in the community,” she says.
