In response to a growing number of alumni and expanding research and education partnerships in China, Washington University in St. Louis is opening an office in Shanghai’s Knowledge Innovation Community.
“The Shanghai office will serve as a key resource for our alumni, prospective students and friends,” Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton said.
“Visitors will be able to enjoy stronger connections to the university as well as regular professional education workshops. The office also will support the university’s ongoing partnerships in China.”
To celebrate the opening of the office, the university hosted a May 25 ribbon-cutting ceremony and an alumni workshop on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Emre Toker, managing director of the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship, gave a hands-on, practical workshop on the realities of entrepreneurship and early-stage investment decisions.
