Participants in the 24th annual Pow Wow at Washington University in St. Louis (above) take part in the Grand Entry in the Field House April 5. The annual event, a celebration of American Indian arts and culture, is hosted by the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies at the Brown School. The event offered visitors and participants a full day of dancing, singing, arts, crafts and food. A color guard (below) opens the Pow Wow and leads the Grand Entry into the Field House. This year’s Pow Wow theme was “Education: Balance in All We Learn,” a reminder of the importance of education in community development among American Indians.
