Gephardt Institute, Student United Way jointly offers service grants

Funding awarded through Civic Engagement Fund

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service has partnered with the newly formed university group, Student United Way, to offer funding for students applying to the Civic Engagement Fund.

The Civic Engagement Fund awards grants to graduate, professional and undergraduate students who seek funding for service trips, civic initiatives or community service projects. Funding amounts vary up to approximately $500. Grants are available for both individuals and groups.

The Gephardt Institute plans to partner with Student United Way during the April 2010 funding cycle, expanding the amount of funding available to students interested in civic engagement.

Student United Way recently received a Des Lee Civic Engagement Grant. This grant offers financial support specifically for undergraduate student service projects in the greater St. Louis area.

The deadline to apply for a grant from the Civic Engagement Fund is 5 p.m. Friday, April 16. For the application or more information, visit gephardtinstitute.wustl.edu, e-mail gephardtinstitute@wustl.edu or call (314) 935-9104.
