International Festival March 28 features food and entertainment

Theme is 'Many Pieces, One World … All a Part of the Puzzle.'

From traditional foods to lively entertainment, students at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work representing a variety of countries will offer a taste of their homelands at the 16th annual International Festival beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in Edison Theatre.

The event, which is open to the public, begins with an international banquet and art exhibition.

This year’s theme is “Many Pieces, One World … All a Part of the Puzzle.”

This event is being organized by Brown School students Krista Rux and Nishesh Chalise, who stress the importance of the festival because it brings members of the Brown School community together annually to celebrate collectively their cultures and traditions.

The International Festival strives to showcase and appreciate the talents of the students that are a part of our university community, the organizeers say.

The entertainment, which includes dance, song and poetry from numerous countries, starts at 6 p.m.

Admission for the entire event is $2.
