$13 million orthopaedic surgery center to be completed by summer

Construction is underway in west St. Louis County to build a new, $13 million orthopaedic facility, a joint project of The Washington University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

The 60,000 square foot center, at 14532 South Outer Forty Drive in Chesterfield, will offer comprehensive, one-stop outpatient care — including physician offices, examination rooms, ambulatory surgery suites, diagnostic radiology (including MRI imaging and general diagnostic services) and rehabilitation and hand therapy services.

The facility will be the department’s primary hub for sports medicine, hand surgery, shoulder surgery, foot and ankle surgery and physical medicine and rehabilitation. The departments orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine services at 1020 North Mason Road, near Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, will be relocated to the new facility. Completion is scheduled for summer 2007.
