The Outstanding TRIO Achiever Award recognizes a senior who has excelled in the areas of leadership, scholarship and community service. Started more than 30 years ago by the U.S. Department of Education, TRIO programs target students who are first in their families to go to college, are low-income by federal guidelines, have learning or physical disabilities and/or are veterans.
