Tessa Diamond of Green Bay, Wis., performs during the junior-dancer competition at the 16th annual powwow April 8 in the Field House. The powwow, which attracted more than 1,500 people from 10 states, was the final event of American Indian Awareness Week. The powwow and awareness week was sponsored by the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work, the American Indian Student Association, various University departments as well as businesses and organizations from the St. Louis area.
