George receives grant to study new drugs on heart tissue
As part of a national effort to predict drug safety and effectiveness, Steven C. George, MD, PhD, chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continue developing an integrated in vitro model of perfused tumor and cardiac tissue.

Steven C. George, MD, PhD, chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, has been named the Elvera & William Stuckenberg Professor of Technology & Human Affairs. He was installed Sept. 22.

Steven C. George, MD, PhD, has been named chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, effective July 1, 2014. George is professor of biomedical engineering and of chemical engineering and materials science at the University of California, Irvine. In addition, he is the Edwards Lifesciences Professor and director of the Edwards Lifesciences Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Technology.
