“The Delmar Loop: Revitalization and Its Impact,” will be the subject of a discussion at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in Brown Hall Lounge. The event is part of “St. Louis Up Close,” an ongoing series of casual dialogues with St. Louis leaders about social issues.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 20, and running through the week of the national election, the Gephardt Institute for Public Service is offering “Issues and Ideas: Election 2012,” a series of evening panel discussions on a wide range of political issues and topics.

Danielle Hayes, research assistant in anthropology in Arts & Sciences, presents a poster at Faces of Hope March 26 at the Danforth University Center. Faces of Hope celebrates community engagement at WUSTL. The event is an opportunity to learn how faculty, staff and students are working with partners locally and around the world to make a difference.

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service has announced the recipients of its Community-Based Teaching and Learning Faculty Grants Program. The grants are intended to provide faculty members with financial support for curriculum development and implementation.

Professor Emeritus James W. Davis is stepping down as director of the institute, which was launched last year.

Four panelists will discuss challenges and career barriers for women in public service and participate in a question-and-answer session April 19 in Anheuser-Busch Hall.

Four women who hold influential public service leadership positions on the St. Louis area will offer career advice as part of a free public panel discussion on “Women in Public Service” at 4 p.m. April 19 in the Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom. Panelists include Catherine Hanaway, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri; Jennifer Joyce, Circuit Attorney City of St. Louis; Emmy McClelland, Director of Governmental Affairs at St. Louis Children’s Hospital; and Darlene Green, City of St. Louis Comptroller.
