Sports update Nov. 26: Men’s basketball wins three games to improve to 5-0
The No. 21 men’s basketball team improved its overall record to 5-0 with three victories a week ago. The Bears posted an 85-62 victory over Fontbonne University Tuesday at home, and then posted a pair of wins over Austin College (94-63) and Simpson College (71-66) Friday and Saturday at the Snyder Classic in Lincoln, Neb.
Sports update Nov. 12: Women’s soccer advances to Sweet 16 with pair of wins
The No. 3 women’s soccer team advanced to the Sweet 16 with a pair of victories at home last weekend. WUSTL advances to the sectional semifinals for the second-straight season and will take on No. 14 Concordia College (Moorhead) at 3 p.m. Friday at Francis Field. The Bears will host the NCAA Sectional for the first time in school history. In the other Sectional semifinal Friday, No. 2 Hardin-Simmons University will take on No. 11 Wheaton College (Ill.) at 5:30 p.m.
Women’s soccer hosts NCAA First and Second Rounds
The No. 4 WUSTL women’s soccer team will host 2012 NCAA Division III First and Second Round action Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 10-11, at Francis Field.
Sports update Nov. 5: Football claims share of UAA Championship with win at Case
The football team limited Case Western Reserve University to 184 yards of total offense in a 10-7 victory Nov. 3 at Case Field in Cleveland, Ohio. With the win Washington University secured a share of its ninth University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship in school history and its first since 2004.
Sports update Oct. 29: Women’s soccer wins UAA title, heads to NCAA Tournament
Sophomore Anna Zambricki recorded the third hat trick of her career to lead the No. 5 women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory at Case Western Reserve University Oct. 28 in Cleveland, Ohio. With the win, WUSTL claimed the UAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and at least a share of its eighth conference championship.
Sports update Oct. 22: Kindbom celebrates birthday as football wins at Denison
Head football coach Larry Kindbom celebrated his 60th birthday in style as the Bears posted an 18-13 victory at Denison University Oct. 20 at Piper Stadium in Granville, Ohio. WUSTL picked up its second win of the year and improves its overall record to 2-5.
WUSTL alumna named 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year
2012 graduate Elizabeth Phillips was named the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year, as announced at a ceremony Sunday in Indianapolis. Phillips is the third NCAA Division III student-athlete to win the award, joining Ashley Jo Rowatt of Kenyon College (2003) and Laura Barito of Stevens Institute of Technology (2011).

Sports update Oct. 8: Volleyball improves to 21-1 with five wins
The No. 1 volleyball team improved its record to 21-1 with five wins last week. The Bears earned a three-set win at Webster University Wednesday, before sweeping Knox College, Central College, Monmouth College (Ill.), and Westminster College (Mo.) on Friday and Saturday at the Bears Classic.
