American Chemical Society

Young-Shin Jun, professor of energy, environmental and chemical engineering, has been named a fellow by the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society. She is the first recipient from the McKelvey School of Engineering and the third at Washington University in St. Louis.

Robert Blankenship, PhD, the Lucille P. Markey Distinguished Professor of Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has won the St. Louis Section of the American Chemical Society’s 2015 Midwest Award.

Sophia Hayes, PhD, professor of chemistry in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has won the American Chemical Society St. Louis Section’s 2015 Saint Louis Award.

Washington University in St. Louis chemist D. André d’Avignon, who manages the university’s high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance facility, has been named the winner of the 2013 Saint Louis Award. The Saint Louis Award, administered by the St. Louis section of the American Chemical Society, is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the profession of chemistry and demonstrated the potential to further the advancement of the chemical profession.
