A.G. Edwards Inc., the St. Louis-based national investment firm, will establish the A.G. Edwards Visiting Professorship in Entrepreneurship.

John G. Roberts Jr., chief justice of the United States, will head the prestigious panel of judges presiding over the finals of the School of Law’s Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition. The competition will take place Feb. 6 in the Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom of Anheuser-Busch Hall. The competition finals are closed to the public. Limited seating will be provided for the WUSTL community to view a simulcast of the student arguments. Space in the overflow rooms in Anheuser-Busch Hall will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The competition finals on are closed to the public. Limited seating will be available for the Washington University community to view a simulcast of the student arguments. Space in the overflow rooms in Anheuser-Busch Hall will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The arguments begin at 3:30 p.m. Announcements of several specialty awards and the winners of the competition finals will be at 4:45 p.m.

Qing Nian, the daughter of Liu Feng and Nian Wanhong, has been named a McDonnell International Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a law degree from the University of Hong Kong, which is one of 15 leading Asian universities partnered with Washington University in St. Louis in the McDonnell International Scholars Academy.

The WUSTL School of Law’s Clinical Education Program and Center for Interdisciplinary Studies will host the sixth annual Access to Equal Justice conference Nov. 17 in the Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom of Anheuser-Busch Hall. The conference will focus on “Examining the Risks of Wrongful Executions and the Role of Prosecutors, Defense Attorneys, Academia and the Press.” Panelists will examine four criminal cases that many critics believe ended in the executions of innocent defendants.

The Law School’s Public Interest Law and Policy Speakers Series, in conjunction with the Federalist Society and the Assembly Series, will present Richard Epstein at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, in the Anheuser Busch Moot Courtroom (Room 310). The lecture is free and open to the public. The well-known libertarian and influential legal scholar will discuss the question, “Has Modern Complex Litigation Outgrown the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures? The Case of Antitrust.”

Richard Epstein and bell hooks will speak Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, respectively.
