Yvonne Osei, MFA ’16, had an exhibition of new works, The Mess Is Us, on display at the Bruno David Gallery April–June. The show investigated systemic violence against Black bodies and communities. She transformed her own photographs and historic images of St. Louis neighborhoods, landmarks, residents and beyond into intricate textile patterns.

Paul K. Manda, LLM ’16, JD ’16, was promoted to shareholder at Winthrop & Weinstine. Manda represents developers, investors and lenders in utilizing low-income housing tax credits to finance affordable housing developments and help promote community development in under-resourced areas.

Tansel Baran Yasar, LA16, defended his doctoral thesis in October 2023 at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The thesis was on the topic of ultra-flexible brain implants for the stable and minimally invasive recording of brain activity from single cells in multiple brain areas.

Jill Teitelbaum, LA16, and Jason Lese, LA17, were married in 2023, with a large contingent of WashU alums in attendance. The newlyweds gathered the more than 40 WashU alumni for a group photo to celebrate the occasion.

Caitlin Rankin, GR16, GR20, a geoarchae-ologist, was spotlighted in the November/December 2021 issue of National Geographic for her excavation work at the Cahokia Mounds site in southern Illinois. Her work provided new insight into why the mounds declined and were deserted.
