Crystal M. Moten, LA04, joined the Obama Presidential Center Museum as its inaugural curator of collections and exhibitions in October 2022. Her book titled Continually Working: Black Women, Community Intellectualism and Economic Justice in Postwar Milwaukee(Vanderbilt University Press) was released in March.

Lori Apfel Cardeli, AR04, launched LACArch in June 2021. LACArch is a full-service architectural design firm with a focus on the design, project management and construction of single-family custom homes, renovations and additions. Her website is LACArch.com. She and her husband, Seth Cardeli, LA04, and their two children live in Rockville, Md.

Jeff Maurer, BU04, was a Libertarian can-didate for Indiana secretary of state in the Nov. 8, 2022, general election. He says he ran “to give Hoosiers a verifiable, printed receipt for their vote, so they can see for themselves that their votes were counted as cast.”

Ross Linzer, LA04, joined King & Spalding LLP’s new Miami office as a partner in the firm’s trial and global disputes practice group. Linzer represents clients in commercial litigation, the defense of class actions and other transactional matters. He and his wife, Lindsey, live in Davie, Fla., with their sons, Noah and Zach.

Nathaniel Dempsey, BU04, was promoted to enterprise strategy analyst at Minnesota ­Management and Budget. He and his wife, Julie (Schroeder) Dempsey, have two children, Miles and Isabelle — who are the grandchildren of Paul Schroeder, LA68, and Darlene ­(Schneemann) Schroeder, LA68, and the great-grandchildren of Frederick Schroeder, BU31, and Mildred (Maetten) Schroeder, LA31.

David E. Kronenberg, LA04, has joined Blank Rome LLP as a partner in the firm’s finance, restructuring and bankruptcy practice group and as a member of the cross-practice energy industry team. His focus is on the intersection of energy hedging, financing and bankruptcy law. Kronenberg previously was counsel in Sidley Austin’s energy group.

Jared Rouben, LA04, is founder and brewmaster of Moody Tongue, the world’s first two Michelin star brewery. The Chicago restaurant and bar is a longtime dream of Rouben, a trained chef who helped pioneer “culinary brewing,” which focuses on brewing with high-quality local and seasonal ingredients.
