Albert Yuk Keung Ip

Albert Yuk Keung Ip, EN73, was named an Honorary Fellow and appointed as University Court Member of City University of Hong Kong. He is also an adjunct professor of business and economics at the University of Hong Kong, an adjunct professor of business at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an audit committee member of Eagle Asset Management.

Alan Curtis

Alan Curtis, EN75, now retired and living in Walnut Creek, Calif., had a long and successful career in engineering, construction and real estate. He served many years with AT&T, with various construction companies and as management of his own real estate investments.

Warren Ashworth

Warren Ashworth, AR79, wrote his first historical novel, We, the House (Blue Cedar Press, October 2021), with his wife, ­Susan Kander. The novel is set in the Italianate balloon-framed house that ­Ashworth’s great-grandfather built in Newton, Kan., in 1878. A professor of design and ­architectural history at the New York School of ­Interior ­Design, Ashworth continues to ­research American wood-framed domestic ­architecture.

Gary Feldman, LA79, a shareholder with Boston law firm Davis Malm, was named to the 2021 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list.

David McLain

David McLain, HS79, was awarded the master designation by the American College of ­Rheumatology, one of the highest honors bestowed on members who have made outstanding contributions to the field. He originated and continues to be the symposium director of the Congress of Clinical ­Rheumatology, the second-largest annual rheumatology meeting in the United States. McLain completed training in internal medicine and ­rheumatology at WashU’s medical school and was on the faculty from 1979–81.

Steven Beer

Steven Beer, LA81, LA81, created and is executive producer of “Reading Rainbow Live,” an updated version of the beloved educational show “Reading Rainbow.” Designed to keep children engaged in learning activities during the challenges of COVID-19 quarantines, the virtual events debuted early this year. As a national chair of law firm Lewis Brisbois’ ­entertainment, media and sports ­practice, Beer represents industry-leading film, ­television and music companies.

Donald E. Burdett

Donald E. Burdett, UC82, self-published No Greater Love and Other Stories (May 2021) under the name D.E. Burdett as he’d done for his earlier book, Sometimes with Malice: Years Before the Civil War, the Conflict Had Already Begun (2011).

Cynthia (Scott) Treece

Cynthia (Scott) Treece, LA82, SW83, after 35 years as a professional fundraiser in Dallas, retired as the vice president of development for Parkland Foundation, the fundraising entity affiliated with Parkland Health, Dallas County’s public health system. Treece helped lead fundraising for the construction of a new Parkland hospital and a new breast-imaging center. In April, she and her husband, Alan, moved to a lakefront home in east Texas.

Dana Regan

Dana Regan, FA83, wrote The Duck Is Stuck, the second book in the Mike Delivers beginning reader series (Simon & Schuster, ­December 2021). Regan’s inspiration for her book — about a trash truck that spews garbage because a rubber duck is stuck in the door — was a news item on National ­Public Radio about the OSIRIS-Rex spacecraft, whose door wouldn’t close because a rock was stuck in the frame.

Eric Heist

Eric Heist, EN91, GB92, a colonel in the U.S. Army, retired after 30 years of service. He led and cared for soldiers, civilians and families in units from platoon to brigade, and served as a staff officer in various Army and NATO headquarters. His career included deployments to Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was inducted into the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Hall of Fame representing Washington University. He and his wife of 27 years, Amy (Chapline) Heist, LA92, reside in Northern Virginia.
