It’s time to get your flu shot
It’s that time of year again — time to get your seasonal flu vaccine. And this year, the vaccine is required for all students and employees on both the Danforth and Medical campuses who work with patients or in buildings where patient care is provided or clinical research occurs.
More workplace safety training sessions scheduled
Interest among WUSTL employees and students in the fall semester workplace safety training sessions has been so high that six more sessions have been added to the schedule. The one-hour free training class for employees and students focuses on two emergency situations: recognizing and preventing violence in the workplace and responding to an active shooter on campus.

A new survey will track attitudes toward WUSTL’s tobacco-free campus enviroment and awareness of smoking cessation programs.

Woman’s Club welcomes newcomers
Risa Zwerling Wrighton hosted a luncheon at Harbison House last month to introduce women new to the university to the Woman’s Club of Washington University. The organization is a way for women connected to the university to form friendships and grow intellectually through a variety of educational, service and social activities.

Libraries conduct service quality survey
Washington University Libraries invite faculty, staff and students to complete a survey and evaluate the libraries’ collections, services and facilities. The survey will be available online Oct. 7-25.
Trustees meet, hear reports on Brown School, endowment and construction projects
At the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees fall meeting Friday, Oct. 4, the trustees heard special reports on the Brown School and the university’s endowment. Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton also provided updates on construction projects.
Climate change expert to speak at Washington University
This year’s Albert P. and Blanche Y. Greensfelder Lecture will focus on climate change and human health. The lecture will be 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Simon Hall, May Auditorium. The speaker is Howard Frumkin, DrPh, MD, dean and professor at the University of Washington School of Public Health.
