Hedwig Lee, professor of sociology in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has been named co-director of the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE²) at Washington University. Lee had served as one of the center’s associate directors since its beginning in 2019. 

James Fitzpatrick, professor of neuroscience and of cell biology and physiology at the School of Medicine and director of the Washington University Center for Cellular Imaging, is one of 22 researchers worldwide named a Chan Zuckerberg Imaging Scientist by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

The Washington University Police Department and Parking & Transportation Services, in partnership with Woodard’s Automotive, again will offer free vehicle inspections to university students, faculty and staff. Jeff Catalano, professor of earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences, was elected a fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America. The honor recognizes Catalano’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of the fields of mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry and petrology.
