A great talent and a lovely man

With his round glasses, amused diction and stiff, patrician carriage, Harold Ramis (AB ’66), was the coolest nerd in the room, a deadpan bomb-thrower, an ironist for the ages. You were never sure if he was joking. That was half the joke.

Washington University in St. Louis senior Yongsang Soh died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013. A memorial service open to members of the WUSTL community will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Women’s Building Formal Lounge.

Obituary: Darlene J. Schoon, former accountant, 74

Darlene J. Schoon, a longtime accountant at Washington University in St. Louis, most recently in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, after a battle with brain cancer. Schoon, of Chesterfield, was 74. She is survived by her husband, Paul Schoon, who retired in 2004 after serving many years as director of planned giving in Alumni & Development.

WUSTL flag at half-staff in memory of Helen Power​

Helen Power, PhD, whose career as a lecturer of English and of women’s studies, both in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, spanned more than 30 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, after suffering a heart attack at her home in St. Louis. She was 77. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in Hurst Lounge, Duncker Hall.
