Brophy named to orthopaedic surgery board
Sports medicine specialist Robert H. Brophy, MD, associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been elected to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons board of directors.

Seven Washington University in St. Louis students successfully completed the Certificate in Renewable Energy and the Environment this year, the largest group to date.
Sandell honored by Osteoarthritis Research Society
Linda J. Sandell, the Mildred B. Simon Professor or Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Osteoarthritis Research Society International.

Milorad (Mike) Dudukovic, of the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis, has received the prestigious Neal R. Amundson Award for Excellence in Chemical Reaction Engineering from the International Symposia on Chemical Reaction Engineering.
Terschluse selected for Grossman-Alexander Prize
Jack Terschluse, who just earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in Arts & Sciences, received the university’s Grossman-Alexander Prize. The competitive award is presented each year to an outstanding graduating senior with an emphasis on American politics.

The Lofts of Washington University, located on the Delmar Loop in University City and the city of St. Louis, has been named a finalist in the 2016 Global Awards For Excellence by the Urban Land Institute (ULI). The prestigious award celebrates outstanding real estate development and design.
School of Medicine nurses honored
Two School of Medicine nurses have received the 2016 Excellence in Nursing Award from St. Louis Magazine, while six others were finalists. The annual awards, announced in April, honor local nurses who have made a difference in the lives of their patients and colleagues.
Anthropology student Walsh Lang honored for HIV work in Uganda
Colleen Walsh Lang, a graduate student in sociocultural anthropology in Arts & Sciences, has been selected to receive the HIVMA student award in recognition of her research on HIV-infected children in Uganda.
