Washington University in St. Louis has received a $10,000 grant from the nonprofit group Transforming Youth Recovery to assist students in recovery from substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors. The group’s first meeting will be Feb. 28.

Yikung Park, associate professor of surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named deputy co-director of the Master of Population Health Sciences (MPHS) degree program. 

William F. Tate, dean of the Graduate School at Washington University in St. Louis, is included in the 2018 “Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings,” as determined by Frederick M. Hess, the American Enterprise Institute’s director of education policy.  

Michael Sherraden, the George Warren Brown Distinguished University Professor and director of the Center for Social Development at the Brown School, received the Society for Social Work and Research’s 2018 Social Policy Researcher Award.

Washington University faculty members Tili Boon Cuillé, Lerone A. Martin and Angela Miller have won prestigious research fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The six newest members of Washington University in St. Louis’ Danforth Staff Council have been selected. The council provides a platform for ongoing communication between Danforth staff and the senior administration.

Robert Henke, professor of drama and comparative literature in Arts & Sciences, edited “A Cultural History of Theatre In the Early Modern Age” (2017). The volume is third in a six-volume set tracing the complex interactions between theater and culture over the past 2,500 years.

Kyle Williams, assistant director of student conduct and community standards at Washington University in St. Louis, will receive the 2018 Otterbein University Diversity Award on Feb. 9 in Westerville, Ohio.

Mark McDaniel, professor of psychological and brain sciences in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, is co-recipient of a 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Conference of Prospective Memory.

Misty Good, MD, assistant professor of pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named to the Scientific Advisory Council of the Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) Society. The nonprofit aims to reduce cases of NEC, a potentially fatal intestinal disease in premature newborns.
