Two doctoral students from the lab of Abhinav Jha, at the McKelvey School of Engineering and the School of Medicine, presented four talks on computational nuclear medicine imaging at the recent annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

A paper by Olin Business School’s Hillary Anger Elfenbein and Bill Bottom, along with then-doctoral candidate Daisung Jang, recently was awarded the International Association for Conflict Management Article of the Year for 2018.

Jason Purnell, associate professor at the Brown School, has been named vice president of community health improvement at BJC HealthCare. He will remain on the Brown School faculty.

The Society for College and University Planning recently honored Washington University in St. Louis’ East End Transformation with its Excellence in Planning Honor for a district of campus component.

Bruce Backus, assistant vice chancellor for environmental health and safety at Washington University in St. Louis, received a lifetime achievement award from the Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association. This was his second lifetime achievement award in less than a month.

Ian S. Hagemann, MD, PhD, Ali Y. Mian, MD, and Michelle M. Miller-Thomas, MD, have been named the 2020-22 Carol B. and Jerome T. Loeb Teaching Fellows at Washington University School of Medicine. The fellowship aims to advance medical education.

Kimberly Norwood, the Henry H. Oberschelp Professor of Law, has been named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Most Influential Business Women” class of 2020.

The Center for the Humanities in Arts & Sciences has awarded six 2020-21 graduate student fellowships. Disciplines range from literature to languages to anthropology.

The McKelvey School of Engineering’s Damena Agonafer is one of 85 early-career engineers selected to attend the National Academy of Engineering’s 26th annual US Frontiers of Engineering symposium. Attendees were nominated by fellow engineers or organizations.

Thomas A. Ferguson, professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at  Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received a Research to Prevent Blindness Stein Innovation Award.
