University to award six honorary degrees at 146th Commencement

Six prominent people, including a legendary radio broadcaster and the first woman president of the country’s fourth oldest university, will receive honorary degrees during the University’s 146th Commencement ceremony May 18. The University will also bestow academic degrees on more than 2,300 students during the ceremony, which begins at 8:30 a.m. in Brookings Quadrangle.

Musical duo Trout Fishing in America comes to Edison

Trout Fishing in America — the long-standing musical partnership between 5-foot-5-inch bass player Keith Grimwood and 6-foot-9-inch guitarist Ezra Idlet —brings its infectious blend of folk, pop and family-friendly music to Edison Theatre at 11 a.m. May 5.

The School of Engineering & Applied Science will honor four of its alumni at an awards ceremony at 5 p.m. May 18, with a reception to follow, in Whitaker Hall. Honorees are Vincent H. Li; Richard P.
