CarlinMusicians from Washington University and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra will join forces to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of French composer Olivier Messiaen, one of the 20th century’s most influential composers. The concert will highlight Messiaen’s signature Quartet for the End of Time, written in a German prison camp during World War II.

Researchers evaluate health benefits of calorie restriction
A School of Medicine study is underway to determine whether reducing calories by 25 to 30 percent and eating nutrient-dense foods can improve health and lengthen lives.
Volunteers needed for public health drill at WUSTL
The Department of Environmental Health & Safety is asking for faculty, staff and student volunteers to participate in a Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) drill March 18. The purpose of the drill is to ensure that the St. Louis County Department of Health has the capability to get life-saving drugs to the University population in a public health crisis.
