Quatrano named interim dean of Arts & Sciences

QuatranoRalph S. Quatrano, Ph.D., the Spencer T. Olin Professor and chair of the Washington University Department of Biology, has been named interim dean of the faculty of Arts & Sciences effective July 1, 2008, according to Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton. He succeeds Executive Vice Chancellor Edward S. Macias, Ph.D., dean of Arts & Sciences and the Barbara and David Thomas Distinguished Professor in Arts & Sciences.

Violent weather plan

Should it be needed, the decision for implementing the violent weather plan for Commencement ceremonies will be made by 7 a.m. May 16. Major local radio and TV stations will be given the information and it will appear on wustl.edu and announced through campus e-mail.

Excellence in Leadership Awards honor students, campus groups

Undergraduates and student groups who have demonstrated outstanding leadership on campus and in the community were presented with Excellence in Leadership Awards by the Office of Student Activities April 27 in Holmes Lounge.
