A new exhibit in the Bernard Becker Medical Library celebrates the centennial anniversary of Washington University School of Medicine’s three original campus buildings on what was once considered the “new” Forest Park campus.

Faculty may apply for the Carol B. and Jerome T. Loeb Teaching Fellows Program at the School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Aug. 21.

Applications for the K12 Clinical Hematology Research Career Development Program scholars are being accepted through Oct. 19. The K12 Career Development Program is aimed at clinical or research fellows, instructors or recently appointed assistant professors committed to research in nonmalignant hematology.

Guy M. Genin, PhD, professor of mechanical engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis, has been named a Yangtze River Scholar by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. The prestigious award is the highest award issued to an individual in higher education by China’s Ministry of Education. Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton attended the installation June 29.

Project ARK , a Washington University School of Medicine program that provides health-care and support services for children and teens with HIV, will host an area designated for youth at St. Louis’ annual PrideFest, a three-day event downtown that begins Friday. Among activities at the site will be free HIV testing for anyone 25 or younger.

Washington University in St. Louis faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to march in this year’s St. Louis PrideFest Parade on Sunday, June 28.

Annual Washington University in St. Louis parking permits expire June 30. ​Permits can be renewed online or at the Parking and Transportation Services office on the North Campus. Prices for red, yellow, blue, brown, green, North Campus, Bearly Drivers, official business and evening permits have increased for the 2015-16 school year. The price for all other permits remains unchanged.

The St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) staff garage entrance and exit along Duncan Avenue is scheduled to reopen June 22, and the garage entrance and exit along Newstead Avenue is scheduled to close. The Newstead entrance will be reconfigured as part of a new road to provide additional access to the parking garages on Duncan and is expected to remain closed for six weeks. Newstead Avenue, however, will remain open.

Contractors are to begin pouring concrete June 11 on the metal decking of the new Barnes-Jewish Hospital tower. The work may lead to some intermittent delays for the next several months on eastbound Forest Park Avenue east of Kingshighway Boulevard.

Washington University School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have opened a new pediatric medical center — the St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center — at Interstate 64/Highway 40 and Mason Road in west St. Louis County. The center welcomed its first patients June 2.
