Flags lowered to half-staff Sunday

The U.S. and university flags over Brookings Hall will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise through sunset Sunday, May 15, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Blackboard outage May 20-21

Faculty, staff and students, take note: the university’s Blackboard service will be unavailable from 3 p.m. Friday, May 20, until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21, while Information Technology performs an upgrade.

Davis memorial service set for June 6

A campus memorial service for James W. Davis, professor emeritus of political science in Arts & Sciences, will be held at 4 p.m. June 6 in Graham Chapel. Davis died April 27.

WUSM Secure wireless network extended

Washington University Information Technology has extended the WUSM Secure wireless network to enable better collaboration and access. Medical school faculty, staff and students now can connect to the encrypted WUSM Secure wireless network when visiting the Danforth Campus.

Strunk memorial service planned May 21

A memorial service for Robert Charles Strunk, MD, a pediatric allergist at the School of Medicine, will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Living World at the Saint Louis Zoo. Strunk died April 28.

‘Eyes on the Prize’ rebroadcast this weekend

The “Eyes on the Prize” series on the civil rights movement will be rebroadcast by the Nine Network this weekend. A follow-up documentary features previously unaired materials from University Libraries’ Henry Hampton Collection and airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 6.

Fair Saint Louis to use some campus parking again

Fair Saint Louis​ will held in Forest Park July 2-4 for the third year in a row. In the spirit of community partnership, and given the proximity of the park to campus, Washington University has once again agreed to sponsor Fair Saint Louis by providing access to several campus parking areas during the fair, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 1.

Fall safety demonstration May 3 on Medical Campus

Those on the Medical Campus, take note: At about 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, the Campus Renewal Project safety team will demonstrate the importance of construction workers wearing fall-protection gear and having a rescue plan.
