IDEA Labs Demo Day to be held April 25

RSVP to attend the IDEA Labs Demo Day at 6 p.m. April 25. Students from the Medical and Danforth campuses will demonstrate prototypes for inventions they created to solve health-care problems.

Info sessions Wednesday, Thursday for Urban Fellows Program

The Gephardt Institute will hold information sessions Wednesday and Thursday, April 6 and 7, for prospective applicants interested in the 10-month Urban Fellows Program. Fellows will contribute to the region’s civic efforts and learn more about urban issues.

Apply for leukemia research awards by May 2

Those interested in the Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Leukemia Career Enhancement and Developmental Research Awards may submit applications through May 2.

Campus arbor tour Tuesday

Kent Theiling Jr., grounds and landscape design manager for the Danforth Campus, will lead a spring arbor tour from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 5, starting at the south entrance of the Danforth University Center.

Thurtene Carnival to support Ready Readers

Thurtene Carnival of Washington University in St. Louis has selected as its community partner Ready Readers, a leading local nonprofit that inspires children to love books.

Campus blood drive next week

The next universitywide blood drive will be held Wednesday, April 6, at seven locations throughout the campuses. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate.

Volunteer at Commencement

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to volunteer to help with the annual Commencement ceremony Friday, May 20. From ushering guests and graduates to passing out programs and other duties, volunteers help ensure a special day for students, families and friends.

Take part in Active Transportation Month

Active Transportation Month, the annual promotion of alternative means of commuting, begins with a kickoff at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, outside the Danforth University Center. Events will take place throughout the next month.
