Sam Fox School, AIA St. Louis announce 2016 Steedman Fellowship
With a first-place travel award of $50,000, the biennial James Harrison Steedman Fellowship in Architecture is among the largest in the nation for emerging architects. The 2016 fellowship, titled “Adaptation,” centers on how flexibility and adaptive response might be better incorporated into the design process.
Campus Kitchen seeks summer volunteers
The Campus Kitchen at Washington University seeks volunteers during the summer to help prepare meals for the hungry. Cooking shifts are 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays at the First Community Church on Wydown Boulevard.
Taylor Avenue to close for construction Friday

Time to renew your U-Pass
The current U-Pass — allowing faculty and staff free use of Metro, the region’s public-transportation bus and light-rail system — expires June 30. Benefits-eligible employees now may request a new U-Pass for the 2017 fiscal year through Parking & Transportation Services.

Historical video interviews with Lewis available
University Libraries’ Film & Media Archive has made video interviews with U.S. Congressman John Lewis from the acclaimed “Eyes on the Prize” documentary series available on its YouTube channel. Lewis will give the university’s Commencement address Friday, May 20.
Construction on Olin Library begins May 23
The Olin Library Transformation project is about to get underway. Construction on the renovation of Olin Library begins Monday, May 23, and new spaces are slated to be open by the fall 2017 semester.
