Skandalaris Center opens space on Medical Campus

The Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship opened a facility on the Medical Campus in the Taylor Avenue Building. Register to attend the next LEAP Inventor Challenge workshops in that space Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Siteman Investment Program seeks applications

The Siteman Investment Program funds internal cancer-related research projects biannually. The aim is to help investigators produce preliminary data to pursue nationally competitive funding. The 2017 Cycle 1 is open, and researchers should express interest by March 1.

Nominations open for Ethic of Service award

The Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award recognizes members of the university community who exemplify service and contribution to the St. Louis region. Honorees include alumni, employees, retirees, students and volunteers. The nomination deadline is Feb. 3.

Basketball teams to host Green Dot games Friday

The men’s and women’s basketball teams will host a Green Dot doubleheader Friday, Jan. 20, while playing New York University. The events will help promote the university’s Green Dot program, which encourages bystanders to intervene and help prevent sexual assault.

Faculty Achievement Award nominations sought

Nominations are being accepted for the annual Faculty Achievement Awards, known as the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award and the Carl and Gerty Cori Faculty Achievement Award. The nomination deadline is Feb. 17.

Flags lowered to remember Pearl Harbor attack

The U.S. and university flags over Brookings Hall will be flown at half-staff Wednesday, Dec. 7, in remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941, which launched the United States into World War II.
