Parking/transit reminders around Fourth of July holiday

Parking and Transportation reminds the campus community to plan ahead before traveling to campus around the July 4 holiday. On Monday, July 3, the West Campus shuttle will be in service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the Campus Circulator will operate from 7:40 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some spaces on the east surface lot at West Campus will be unavailable July 3 and 4 and early July 5.

Grant applications sought from junior cancer researchers

The Washington University School of Medicine is accepting applications for the American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant to support junior investigators who have no national peer-reviewed research grant support.

Campus blood drives next week

The next universitywide blood drives will be held next week, on Wednesday, June 28, and Friday, June 30. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate.

Becker Library exhibit on Jewish Hospital history open

An exhibit titled “‘Skill, tenderly applied, works wonders’ – A History of The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis” is open through Aug. 31 in the Bernard Becker Medical Library’s Glaser Gallery. Learn more on the library’s website.

Applications for the next cycle of the university’s LEAP Inventor Challenge are due by Monday, June 5. University faculty, postdoctoral, staff and graduate student teams are eligible.

Campus Kitchen seeks summer volunteers

The Campus Kitchen at Washington University seeks volunteers during the summer to help prepare meals for the hungry. Cooking shifts are 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 6 through Aug. 10 at the First Congregational Church on Wydown Boulevard.

Record moves to summer schedule

The May 22 issue marks the last daily Record of the 2016-17 academic year. The next issue will be published Wednesday, May 31, and then twice weekly through the summer. Visit The Source for the latest news between issues.

Stay alert about potential for Commencement changes

Due to the threat of severe weather Friday, May 19, the university is reminding graduating students, families and campus volunteers about the severe weather plan. The university homepage, wustl.edu, Commencement website and app and other communication methods will be updated by 7 a.m. Friday if the ceremony must move indoors.
