Nominations sought for sustainability leadership
Nominations of people and projects that demonstrate the university’s sustainability goals in areas such as reducing waste and conserving energy are being accepted through Monday, Jan. 15. Winners of the new Sustainability Leadership Awards will be recognized at the Green Carpet Awards ceremony Feb. 5.

Medicine’s Art Show accepting works
The School of Medicine’s spring Art Show is now accepting submissions of artwork (paintings, sculpture, photography and more). Submissions are due by Jan. 12. The show will be held Jan. 16-Feb. 9 at the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center.
Volunteers sought for Memory & Aging Project
The Memory & Aging Project (MAP) is an ongoing research study at Washington University. Researchers are looking at the memory and thinking changes that occur as people age. Both healthy individuals and those with memory loss are sought to take part in tests that measure memory and thinking.

Recycle holiday lights on campus
If you have unwanted or broken holiday lights, don’t throw them away. The Office of Sustainability again is holding a holiday lights recycling drive. Bring them to drop-off spots around campus before Jan. 31.
Take part in research data storage seminar
Researchers can sign up for a training seminar to learn about university-funded data storage that soon will be available. The first Learn at Work seminar will take place Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Flags lowered to remember Pearl Harbor attack
The U.S. and university flags over Brookings Hall will be flown at half-staff until sunset Dec. 7 in remembrance of those who died in the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Free vehicle inspections Dec. 2
The university’s Police and Parking Services departments, in partnership with Hartmann’s Towing, once again will sponsor free vehicle inspections for students, faculty and staff from noon-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the lower level of Millbrook Garage.
