Faculty and Staff Night at the Ballpark will take place Aug. 1, when the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Colorado Rockies. Online sales for discounted tickets end in mid-July.

The 2018 James Harrison Steedman Fellowship in Architecture asks how infrastructure shapes our individual and collective environments. The biennial research competition for early-career architects is organized by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, in concert with AIA St. Louis. Registration opens Aug. 15 and proposals are due Nov 1.

‘Interrupting Racism’ training offered

Stretch of Forest Park Parkway closed next week

A stretch of Forest Park Parkway, between Skinker and Big Bend boulevards, will be closed to through traffic beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, through June 18. Drivers still can access Hoyt and Throop drives.

Pedestrian access to east end of campus more limited

Pedestrians’ ability to get around the east end of the Danforth Campus became more limited after Commencement as crews’ work, including regrading and utility upgrades, expanded to the west of the construction site.

Campus Kitchen seeks summer volunteers

The Campus Kitchen at Washington University seeks volunteers during the summer to help prepare meals for the hungry. Cooking shifts are 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 5 and running through Aug. 9 at the First Congregational Church, 6501 Wydown Blvd.

Take part in used shoe drive

Donate gently used shoes at collection spots on the Medical Campus by May 31. The Office of Sustainability and the School of Medicine Operations and Facilities Management Department is coordinating the effort with  Shoeman Water Projects. The nonprofit helps raise funds to provide clean water in developing countries.
