A renovation project will begin this May in the Mallinckrodt Center. A number of academic and student support services will relocate to the center by the end of December.

Nominations are being accepted for the Gloria W. White Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes a staff member for exceptional effort and contributions to the university. Nominations are due by March 15.

The Danforth Staff Council will hold its spring town hall meeting from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Edison Theatre in the Mallinckrodt Center. Hear from Chancellor-elect Andrew D. Martin, staff ombuds Jessica Kuchta-Miller and others.  

Nominate Washington University faculty or staff members or alumni for a Trailblazer Award. The award aims to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of black alumni, faculty and staff to the university and to the broader community. The deadline is March 4.

The Gephardt Institute’s Civic Engagement Fund provides support for initiatives that cultivate community engagement. All members of the Washington University community are eligible to apply for funding, which can range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the project. The deadline is March 8.

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum is now accepting proposals for the fall 2019 Teaching Gallery exhibition. The gallery is a space dedicated to exhibiting works from the museum with ties to university courses. The deadline for faculty to submit proposals is March 1.

Women in Global Health is an international network aiming to achieve gender equality in global health leadership, and a chapter has launched at the university, with support from the Institute for Public Health. Those interested in gender and global health issues are encouraged to get involved.

The Danforth Staff Council, which works with the administration to address staff concerns, is accepting applications for new members. Applications are due by Feb. 20. Also, the spring town hall meeting will be held March 12.

Undergraduate and graduate students who love collecting books can submit entries for this year’s Neureuther Student Book Collection Essay Competition. The deadline is March 4, and winners can receive up to $1,000.

The Washington University community is invited to nominate black students for the James E. McLeod Honors and Awards Program. The program recognizes the achievements of black students in academic excellence, research, leadership and community service. Nominations close March 1.
