University joins COVID-19 Regional Response Fund effort
				Washington University in St. Louis joined business, government and philanthropic leaders to take part in the COVID-19 Regional Response Fund, created to assist area nonprofits affected by the pandemic.

				To mark National Poetry Month, the Center for the Humanities in Arts & Sciences is inviting readers of all backgrounds to create short poems in response to daily prompts.

			Apply to join Danforth Staff Council
				The Danforth Staff Council, which works with the administration to address staff concerns and provide input on university decisions, is accepting applications for new members. Applications are due by Friday, April 3.
			
		
					
			Take part in climate solutions virtual teach-in
				Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri-St. Louis are partnering for an upcoming virtual teach-in to discuss solutions to abate climate change. All are welcome to take part. 
			
		
					
			University images available for use on Zoom
				With the university community shifting to virtual meetings and classes via Zoom, the Office of Public Affairs created WashU-themed virtual backgrounds so people can all have a scene from campus wherever they are working and learning.
			
		
					
			Medical students lead effort to collect masks, gowns, gloves, eye protection
				Medical students are asking university researchers to collect extra personal protective equipment from their labs to donate to frontline health-care workers at university hospitals and clinics.
			
		
					
			Writing Center has moved
				The Writing Center has moved offices and is now located in the lower level of Mallinckrodt Center. It was previously in Olin Library. The center provides free tutoring for WashU students, faculty and staff with writing projects.
			
		
					
			Update on novel coronavirus
				The administration at Washington University in St. Louis continues to monitor  developments with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) first identified in Wuhan, China. Stay up to date on the Emergency Management website. 
			
		
					
			Apply now for Civic Engagement Fund grants
				The Gephardt Institute’s Civic Engagement Fund provides support for initiatives that cultivate community engagement. All members of the Washington University community are eligible to apply for funding, which can range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the project. The deadline is March 27.
