Electronics recycling drives, bulb swaps planned
The Office of Sustainability is holding electronics recycling drives and lightbulb swaps. They will take place Oct. 29 on the Medical Campus and Nov. 5 on the Danforth Campus.
Nominations open for Ethic of Service Award
The Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award recognizes members of the university community who exemplify service and engagement with the St. Louis region. Honorees include alumni, employees, retirees, students and volunteers. The nomination deadline is Nov. 1.
College Prep Program accepting nominations
Washington University’s College Prep Program is accepting nominations for the next cohort of its innovative college readiness initiative. The nomination deadline is Oct. 30.
Take part in people’s ecochallenge this month
The Office of Sustainability invites members of the university community to take part in the people’s ecochallenge Oct. 7-28. Join the WashU team and take individual actions in areas such as waste, energy, health and justice.
Review latest information security policies
The Washington University in St. Louis Office of Information Security has completed its annual update of information security policies. Also, the office will be holding events during October, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, to keep the community informed.
Flags lowered in memory of Justice Ginsburg
The U.S. and university flags over Brookings Hall are lowered to half-staff in memory of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ginsburg died Sept. 18 at age 87.
Reminder: complete census by Sept. 30
The Gephardt Institute reminds students that the self-report process for the 2020 Census ends Sept. 30. Students who were living off campus during the spring semester still may fill out their forms.
