With the university community shifting to virtual meetings and classes via Zoom, the Office of Public Affairs created WashU-themed virtual backgrounds so people can all have a scene from campus wherever they are working and learning.

Writing Center has moved

The Writing Center has moved offices and is now located in the lower level of Mallinckrodt Center. It was previously in Olin Library. The center provides free tutoring for WashU students, faculty and staff with writing projects.

Update on novel coronavirus

Apply now for Civic Engagement Fund grants

The Gephardt Institute’s Civic Engagement Fund provides support for initiatives that cultivate community engagement. All members of the Washington University community are eligible to apply for funding, which can range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the project. The deadline is March 27.

Apply for SPORE research grants

Applications are now being accepted for funding opportunities related to the Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) in pancreatic cancer and in leukemia. The deadline is May 1.

During the spring semester, Washington University will host a series of events that are expected to draw a high volume of traffic to campus, particularly leading up to and during Thurtene Carnival and WashU Reunion Weekend, April 17-19.

Nominate students for McLeod honors

The Washington University community is invited to nominate students for the James E. McLeod Honors and Awards Program. The nomination deadline is March 16. 

Zoom video conferencing service available

Zoom video conferencing service debuted Feb. 1 as Washington University’s primary video conferencing tool. All faculty, staff and students can use the service for free by signing in with their WUSTL Key.
