A new program has launched at Washington University to support principal investigators and their postdoctoral researchers. The Postdoc Peer Mentorship Program is accepting applications for those who wish to be mentors and for those who would like a mentor on both the Danforth and Medical campuses. The deadline is Feb. 1.
Call for honorary degree nominations
All members of the Washington University in St. Louis community are invited to nominate honorary degree candidates for the May 2022 Commencement. The Honorary Degree Task Force of the Board of Trustees is accepting nominations until Feb. 1.
Flags lowered in honor of U.S. Capitol Police
The U.S. and university flags over Brookings Hall are lowered to half-staff until sunset Wednesday, Jan. 13, in honor of U.S. Capitol Police officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, who died last week.
Center for Teaching and Learning launches
The Teaching Center and the Learning Center at Washington University in St. Louis have joined together as one academic unit known as the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Applications now accepted for Equalize 2021
Applications are now being accepted for Equalize, a virtual mentor program and pitch competition designed to support women academic inventors. The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.
Free vehicle inspections available
The Washington University Police Department and Parking & Transportation Services, in partnership with Woodard’s Automotive, again will offer free vehicle inspections to university students, faculty and staff. People may bring their vehicle to Woodard’s Automotive in University City between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday from Dec. 7-18.
Update on spring semester university-sponsored international travel
Washington University’s International Travel Oversight Committee recently updated international travel policies, which will extend through the upcoming spring 2021 semester.
