Redesigned Record email debuts

With the email of Wednesday, June 8, Washington University in St. Louis presents a redesigned Record, the official faculty and staff electronic publication of the university. Changes include a redesign of the Record email that includes links to regular Record features such as Washington People, Obituaries and Sports. It also includes redesigned features such as Notables and In the Spotlight, and a WUSTL in the News section with links to university stories on a national level.

New page debuts on emergency website

A new weather alerts page on the university emergency website, emergency.wustl.edu, will give the university community information about how they can sign up for weather-related emails and text-message alerts from the National Weather Service and other local news outlets. The page can be found at emergency.wustl.edu/resources/weather_alerts.html or by going to emergency.wustl.edu and clicking on the “Weather Alerts” link in the “Alerts” box.

Free Twitter class offered by Washington University Libraries June 21

Getting a Twitter account going for a department or organization is relatively simple, but making the most of the social media platform can be a challenge. Washington University librarians will explore how to use Twitter as a powerful publicity tool in a workshop at Olin Library from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21. Registration is free and is open to WUSTL students, faculty and staff as well as people from other institutions and nonprofit organizations.

Recycling fact sheet posted on wustl.edu/sustain

WUSTL has many initiatives in place to ensure that the university is diverting as much waste as possible — from batteries to food to used cooking oil — from the landfill.To help keep the university community updated on the recycling efforts of the university and its partners, the Recycling Committee and Office of Sustainability have partnered to develop a summary of WUSTL’s many recycling initiatives, including single-stream recycling and RecycleMania. 19th annual W Club golf scramble June 13

The Department of Athletics will host the 19th annual W Club golf scramble on Monday, June 13, at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Ballwin, Mo.Entry fee is $325 per golfer, which includes greens fees, golf cart, driving range, lunch, cocktails, dinner and awards. Lunch & Learn returns to Kemper Art Museum

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum is one of the oldest university museums in the country. This summer, the museum will resume its Lunch & Learn program, a popular series of lunchtime tours open to any campus department or group.

Mallinckrodt Bank of America branch to close April 29-July 4

Bank of America’s full-service branch in the Mallinckrodt Center on the Danforth Campus will be closed from 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, through Tuesday, July 4, during its relocation to the Mallinckrodt Center’s first floor, east end. The bank will reopen July 5. The bank is relocating from the second floor due to construction and renovation in the Mallinckrodt Center.
