Campus memorial services will be held this month for two WUSTL students who recently died — Emily Benatar and Gabrielle “Gabby” Reuveni. The services will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, for Benatar and Sunday, Sept. 30 for Reuveni.

“Remembering 9/11,” an exhibition featuring artifacts that reveal 9/11’s impact, is on view at Olin Library through Sunday, Sept. 30. The exhibition features material from University Archives and material collected for Remembering 9/11, a cultural archives project launched by American Culture Studies in Arts & Sciences exploring memories of 9/11 at the university and in the culture as a whole.

Washington University in St. Louis’ Institute for School Partnership has received a $2.2 million grant from the Monsanto Fund to take the institute’s cornerstone program, MySci, to the next level. In its eighth year serving the St. Louis community, MySci’s mission is to cultivate the region’s next generation of scientists by engaging elementary students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through interactive learning experiences and creative curriculum.

​WUSTL faculty and administrators with ideas for improving the campus environment for women, members of underrepresented minority groups, and other diverse groups are encouraged to apply for a Diversity and Inclusion Grant. Proposals are now being accepted until Oct. 29 for program initiatives that strengthen and promote diversity on campus.

Washington University in St. Louis’ Black Alumni Council will host a dedication of a Brookings Quadrangle bench in honor of Jim McLeod at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16. A reception will follow in South Brookings, Room 100. The bench was donated in memory of McLeod by members and friends of the Black Alumni Council.

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service is coordinating a university-wide voter registration campaign Tuesday, Sept. 18. On that day, the institute will conduct Missouri voter registration and provide information on absentee ballot registration.

New extended hours are coming to Olin Library on a trial basis during the 2012-13 school year. 24/4 hours (open 24 hours, Monday-Thursday) begin the week of Sunday, Sept. 9, in the fall and the week of Sunday, Jan. 27, in the spring. During reading and exam weeks, Olin Library will remain open 24 hours, seven days per week.

Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton will present “An Update on Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Washington University” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in Moore Auditorum on the Medical School campus. Wrighton will speak about ways new programs and incentives have changed the landscape for entrepreneurship at the university.

Washington University Libraries staff members are offering a series of free workshops to help introduce students, faculty and staff to Twitter. Each of the four sessions will be held in Olin Library’s Arc (Level A) at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoons throughout the fall semester with topics ranging from Twitter 101, an introductory class, to more advanced workshops on specific uses of the popular social media platform.
