Celebrate Art Museum Day May 18
Has a painting or drawing ever stopped you in your tracks? Have you ever circled a sculpture, collating angles and comparing views? Have you ever been challenged, or simply amused, by an installation or performance? If so, you’re not alone. On May 18, the Kemper Art Museum and more than 100 other institutions across North America will celebrate Art Museum Day.
Washington University Day at Circus Flora
The Washington University in St. Louis Alumni Association is hosting “Washington University Day at Circus Flora” at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8. Join WUSTL faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends as Circus Flora presents “A Trip to the Moon” in the big-top tent in Grand Center (in a parking lot adjacent to Powell Hall).
‘Senior Send-Off’ Dining Services event open to all
On Friday, May 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the Edison Family Courtyard outside the DUC, WUSTL Dining Services is offering graduating seniors the opportunity to take one more delicious trip down memory lane with an event highlighting the food and favorite Dining Services staff members from their four years at Washington University. Faculty, staff and guests are invited to join the festivities.

Author of book about the famed Cori Laboratory to open Cori Lecture May 8
John Exton, MD, PhD, the author of “Crucible of Science” — a book about the history of a unique laboratory at Washington University and of Carl and Gerty Cori, the biochemists who established it — will make opening remarks at the Carl and Gerty Cori Lecture on May 8.
Excellence in Leadership Awards recognize students and campus groups
Undergraduate student leaders and student groups who actively demonstrate exemplary leadership, service and commitment to the campus community were recognized during the Excellence in Leadership Awards ceremony, held April 28 in Holmes Lounge, Ridgley Hall.
Financial capability lecture at Brown Hall Monday, May 13
Sherry Salway Black, director of the Partnership for Tribal Governance, National Congress of American Indians, will be on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis at 12:15 p.m. Monday, May 13, in Brown Hall’s Brown Lounge (Room 218). Her talk “Securing Our Futures: Building Financial Capability for Life” is sponsored by the Brown School’s Center for Social Development and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The lecture is free but registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
Lavender Recognition Ceremony May 15
The third annual Lavender Recognition Ceremony will
take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in College Hall in the South 40
House. Co-hosted by LGBT Student Involvement and Leadership and
the Social Justice Center, the ceremony honors the achievements and
contributions of graduating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and
